Victor Sheverda
Construction Project Manager - Construction Management
Victor Sheverda is a Construction Project Manager in the Greater Denver Area, overseeing commercial projects from pre-construction through final closeout. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management and is certified as a Project Management Professional (PMP)®, which reflects his ability to manage projects using recognized frameworks and methodologies. The certification, held worldwide in high regard, confirms his knowledge and skill in efficiently organizing, executing, and delivering construction projects. He blends on-the-ground construction knowledge with formal project management principles, which helps him consistently meet project requirements and exceed expectations.
His early experience in the construction industry began through work with his family’s business, which focused on custom-spec residential homes. The company used Insulated Concrete Form (ICF) construction techniques, making homes more energy-efficient and structurally resilient. These homes are recognized for their resistance to fire, rot, pests, and even natural disasters, which introduced him to sustainable building at an early age. This exposure continues to influence his career, as he remains committed to sustainability in construction practices.
He transitioned from summer internships into full-time commercial construction roles, beginning his career with a well-known building group. He later moved into the role of Assistant Project Manager at a respected commercial general contractor in Colorado. Currently, he manages a range of construction responsibilities, from subcontractor coordination to owner communications, all while driving overall project value. His work ensures smooth stakeholder collaboration and successful execution across the Denver Metro Area.
As a certified project management professional, he implements risk mitigation techniques, applies standardized practices, and continuously evaluates project processes for improvements. These abilities are especially valuable for complex projects that involve tight timelines, fluctuating budgets, and logistical challenges. Alongside his PMP® certification, he is also trained in Agile project management. This approach divides large projects into smaller, manageable stages and emphasizes responsiveness to change, allowing teams to adjust and improve throughout the project lifecycle.
Early Life and Education
He spent much of his early life in Hawaii, where he developed a strong connection to the natural world. That experience shaped his mindset toward environmental stewardship and influenced his long-standing interest in sustainable construction. After relocating to Colorado, he attended Cherokee Trail High School. There, he excelled in both academics and athletics. He became a four-year varsity letterman in tennis and earned qualification three times each for state and regional championships in the Boys 12-18 5A Tennis League.
In 2015, he began college studies at the University of Colorado Boulder, where he was originally enrolled in the Civil Engineering program. However, after some time, he determined that a more applied, construction-centered program would better fit his goals. He then transferred to Colorado State University, entering the Construction Management program and earning a 3.78 GPA by graduation. While studying there, he became a member of the Sigma Lambda Chi Honor Society and was consistently recognized on the Dean’s List, reflecting his academic commitment and achievement.
During college, he completed three internships with a prominent construction firm in Denver. These summer internships provided hands-on experience and exposure to construction's technical and practical sides. He worked on the Market Station and RidgeGate Campus projects in Colorado and a historic preservation effort at the United States Capitol Building in Washington, D.C. The Capitol project remains one of the most meaningful experiences of his career due to the historic significance of the site and the responsibilities involved in its preservation.
Career in Construction
With nearly ten years of combined field and office experience, he continues learning and growing in construction. He focuses on applying traditional and Agile construction methodologies to projects that often involve updating or repurposing underutilized spaces into active commercial environments. His ability to integrate structured project planning with flexibility and teamwork contributes to positive outcomes on each assignment.
He began his professional construction journey as a Project Engineer with a well-established firm. One of his early assignments was the National Western Center Campus Energy project, which involved developing North America's largest sewer-heat recovery system. His attention to detail and willingness to adapt and improve helped him transition into a role as a Construction Estimator. In this position, he conducted evaluations of subcontractor and supplier proposals, reviewed project specifications, and developed cost estimates based on drawings and scopes of work.
In 2022, he was hired as an Assistant Project Manager. In this role, he took on greater responsibility for monitoring subcontractor activities, coordinating procurement, and ensuring projects followed established timelines. His disciplined project management style, attention to contract execution, and thorough oversight have been critical to keeping projects aligned with client goals and industry standards.
Among his completed projects, two hold particular importance. One is his role in the restoration work on the United States Capitol, where he contributed to preserving the architectural and cultural value of the building. The other is the NCAR-Wyoming Supercomputing Center (NWSC), a three-story facility covering 170,982 square feet. These projects demonstrate his ability to navigate both heritage-focused and high-technology construction assignments.
A Life Adventurist
Outside of his professional work, he is passionate about the outdoors and enjoys exploring nature. He supports conservation through his involvement with the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and spends time hiking, climbing, and traveling. He has climbed several of Colorado’s 14,000-foot peaks and taken on challenging trails in Hawaii, New Mexico, and Colorado, reflecting his love of nature and physical endurance.
He maintains an active lifestyle through Brazilian Jiu-jitsu, boxing, skiing, and weightlifting. He is also interested in history and enjoys traveling to places where he can learn and explore. Whether in the mountains or on a construction site, he applies the same level of discipline, curiosity, and energy to everything he does.
Through experience, education, and continued professional development, Victor Sheverda has built a career that reflects technical capability and personal responsibility. His work is marked by clear communication, thoughtful planning, and a commitment to sustainability, all of which contribute to his effectiveness as a Construction Project Manager.
